(Photo by Joel Auerbach/Getty Images)Earlier this week, college football insider Bruce Feldman shared a video of Matt Leinart’s 11-year-old son playing football. In the video Leinart’s son, Cole, lines up at the quarterback spot just like his pops and throws a bullet to the wide receiver. It was an impressive throw from the young quarterback. So impressive, in fact, that Feldman joked he was surprised FAU head coach Lane Kiffin, who has a penchant for offering players while they’re still young, hasn’t offered Leinart yet.Kiffin responded to Feldman’s tweet saying he did, in fact, offer Cole.Check it out.I did @BruceFeldmanCFB keep up with the news!!! #ColeComingto#thefaU @espn @Rivals @MattLeinartQB https://t.co/YvKBzLJ20J— Lane Kiffin (@Lane_Kiffin) October 16, 2018Kiffin has a long relationship with Matt Leinart dating back to their days at USC. While Leinart was the team’s quarterback, Kiffin served as Pete Carroll’s wide receivers coach.Kiffin also served as the Trojans’ passing game coordinator when Leinart took home the Heisman Trophy in 2004.Will Kiffin still be FAU’s head coach when Cole makes his collegiate debut? Likely not.
